Google Ads vs Meta Ads: What’s Right For You in 2026

A founder’s guide to choosing the right channel based on your industry, ticket size, and how your customers actually search.

Every business owner asks this: “Should I run Google Ads or Meta Ads?” The honest answer is: it depends on one thing. Is your customer already looking for you, or do you need to show them why they need you?

The simple difference

Google Ads catches people who are already searching. Someone types “pest control near me” or “CA in Pune”. They have a need right now. Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) reach people who are scrolling. They were not looking, but the right offer and creative can make them act.

Choose Google Ads if…

Your customer has an urgent problem and searches for a solution. Examples: pest control, plumbers, doctors, CA and legal services, repair services, local B2B suppliers. If nobody searches for what you sell, Google will not work.

Choose Meta Ads if…

Your product is visual or needs an emotional push. Examples: real estate, jewellery, apparel, education and admissions, restaurants, events. Meta also works well with WhatsApp follow-up, which matters a lot for Indian buyers.

What about ticket size?

For a low ticket (under a few thousand rupees), Meta usually gives cheaper volume. For a high ticket, buyers research first, so you need both: Meta to create interest and Google to catch them when they search.

What we recommend

  • Priority 1: Start with the channel that matches your customer’s mindset (search or scroll).
  • Priority 2: Fix your landing page and WhatsApp follow-up before adding budget.
  • Priority 3: Add the second channel only after the first one gives stable, qualified leads.

Do not judge either channel only by cost per lead. Track cost per qualified lead, appointments and sales. A cheap lead that never picks up the phone is not cheap.
